Inside, she is quite different from what her freewheeling, confident, playful demeanor (mentioned in the previous chapter) would suggest. Although Mao likes to theorize and speculate and dream big dreams, she is basically clearheaded and practical. However, Angela Mao also worries and frets a great deal, although others may not know this from her jovial demeanor.

At heart Angela Mao is modest and humble and rarely strives to be in the limelight or in a position of power. Angela Mao has a sharp analytical mind, a keen eye for detail, and prefers to observe, dissect, and study life from a distance. Conscientious and conservative, Mao can be relied upon to be cautious, efficient, and thorough in her work and she takes pride in a job well done.
