Warren Buffett in Relationships
Open and generous, Warren Buffett enjoys a wide circle of friends and acquaintances and he thrives on sociability and fellowship. He is adventurous, playful, freedom loving, and always ready for a good time. Buffett rarely allows obstacles or difficulties to keep him down, for no matter how bleak the past or present, Warren always expects a better, brighter future. In fact, he is uncomfortable with his own or other people's problems and emotional pain. Warren Buffett often tries to "cheer up" or offer philosophical advice to those who are hurting, but he unwittingly avoids or ignores the emotions involved.
Friendship means a great deal to Buffett, perhaps even more than love relationships or romance. For Warren Buffett to be happy, his mate must be his best friend and encourage Warren's aspirations and ideals. Warren Buffett also needs a great deal of emotional freedom and mobility.
Warren Buffett has a soft exterior and tends to relate very personally and sympathetically to other people. However, Warren sometimes lets his emotions overpower his reasoning and logic, and consequently he is sometimes biased in his opinions. Warren Buffett is impressionable and rather gentle, or at least that is the way he appears. His feelings are on the surface and Warren cannot hide his emotions.
Warren Buffett tends to be touchy, defensive and rather territorial, and if he perceives a threat to his family or home or personal safety, he can be quite aggressive. Sometimes Warren feels out of sorts and hostile for no apparent reason, and this is usually due to unexpressed, unresolved anger from the past. Warren Buffett also has a desire to lead, to compete, or to be a free agent, that he is not entirely conscious of. It is good for Buffett to have benign outlets and ways to let off steam on a regular basis, such as demanding physical work or athletics. Otherwise Warren Buffett may be rather hard to live with, even abusive in his relationships.
Although Warren Buffett was portrayed above as being assertive and combative, he also has a diametrically opposed tendency - namely the urge to escape all contention and ugliness. This may mellow Warren's fiery reactions somewhat, or he may seesaw between the two. His softer side is described in the following paragraphs.
He is a dreamer who is attracted to the inner, mystical side of life, and may have trouble distinguishing the real from the imagined or illusory. Warren does not enjoy confrontation and becomes very evasive when problems in his personal life or relationships arise, and escapes into his imagination in order to avoid dealing with them directly. He is also rather gullible and naive about people, especially if his sympathy has been aroused. Warren Buffett is very sensitive to music and can use it to achieve emotional balance and harmony.
Warren Buffett has a positive emotional outlook and cultivating spiritual relationships with others is important to him. He is likely to have a big circle of friends and acquaintances and he loves to give and receive social invitations.
Warren Buffett tends to go to extremes to be different or to preserve his freedom, and his nature is rather thoughtless, impatient and restless. He is daring and audacious, ambitious and determined, but feels that things can only be accomplished by using force.
Warren Buffett possesses the gifts of tact, courtesy and consideration, and has a strong desire to please and understand his love partner. Because he values harmony so highly, Warren Buffett will compromise a great deal to avoid any discord or conflict in his relationships. Warren does not like to dwell on controversial or emotional subjects and often tries to "smooth things over" or "sweep them under the rug".
In love relationships, Warren Buffett wants an intellectual peer, an equal and a friend. He is attracted to people who have a certain finesse, delicacy and subtlety. Warren Buffett appreciates good manners and refinement and is not happy with coarseness or bluntness in a person.
Buffett is a very sociable, congenial person and he wilts very quickly without relationships with good friends and people to share good times with. Warren Buffett thoroughly enjoys working with others on group projects or community activities. He is quite happy when he is a part of a club, support group, or team of some sort.
Warren Buffett experiences powerful, compelling emotional and sexual attractions, and he may feel that he has little choice or control over his desires. Warren Buffett has an intense need for love and may be emotionally greedy or insatiable. His love relationships are passionate and often tumultuous and painful as well. Jealousy, power struggles or possessiveness can become areas of conflict in his relationships. On the positive side, Warren Buffett can be unusually creative and bring about beneficial and healing changes in the lives of others, motivated by his deeply felt love.
