Arnold Schwarzenegger motivation
As described in the previous chapter, Arnold Schwarzenegger instinctively protects, nurtures, and supports others, and as discussed below, he loves to be a leader. The combination of these two sides of Schwarzenegger results in his being a good leader of his family, or any club or group to which he belongs. Arnold Schwarzenegger treats people with a lot of personal attention and care, and others appreciate this.
He also often takes things too personally, and many times Arnold Schwarzenegger thinks that things are directed at him personally when they are not.
Behind Schwarzenegger's rather gentle, soft appearance he is very willful and stubborn, a surprise to people as they get to know him better.
Proud and intensely individual, Arnold Schwarzenegger really wants to stand out, to be the very best he can be, and to be recognized and appreciated for his unique contributions. Doing something well and being respected for it is extremely important to him, and he cannot tolerate being in the background, taking orders from others, or being "just one of the team". Arnold Schwarzenegger must put his personal stamp on whatever he does, and direct his own course in life. Arnold Schwarzenegger needs to have a place where he can shine, express himself creatively, and be the one in charge.
Arnold has big dreams and the determination, spirit, vitality, and enthusiasm to bring them into being. Arnold Schwarzenegger also has a noble, romantic heart, and a love of the dramatic, colorful, and extravagant.
For Arnold Schwarzenegger it is true that "the entire world's a stage" and he secretly (or perhaps not so secretly) desires to be the star or hero in the play. Arnold wants to be great, and to receive the love and applause of an adoring audience, even if the "audience" is just one other special person. He needs someone to believe in him and his dreams. Though Schwarzenegger appears radiantly self-confident and independent, he is actually very much dependent on the affirmation, love, and recognition of others. He cannot bear being unnoticed or unappreciated.
Arnold Schwarzenegger also loves wholeheartedly and generously and really knows how to make the person he loves feel special. Arnold Schwarzenegger loves the magic of "being in love" and knows how to keep the romance alive in his relationships. He is also immensely loyal and will defend his loved ones and stand by them to the end - as long as they never offend his pride or betray his trust. However, Arnold Schwarzenegger likes to be the strong one in his relationships and he really does not share the leading role very easily. Ideally Arnold needs to find a person who is as strong-willed as he is, but who will not try to dominate or compete with him.
His strengths are Schwarzenegger's zest and love for life, his creative power, and his warm and generous heart. His primary fault is his tendency to be very egocentric, so concerned with the impression he is making and with his own creative self-expression that he forget there is another, larger world that does not revolve around him.
Arnold Schwarzenegger has a clear sense of his own self and he therefore conveys a strong impression to others of who he is and what he wants. Assertive and self-motivated, Schwarzenegger can be a leader - one whom others look to for direction - but he competes and often clash with other strong individuals. Arnold Schwarzenegger feels a need to be in control of his own life and he can be too self-involved, too immersed in his own interests, and oblivious to others at times.
There is an ongoing, subtle conflict within Arnold Schwarzenegger, between his conscious attitudes and aspirations, and his deeper emotional and subconscious beliefs, needs, and feelings. This creates considerable inner stress and sometimes paralyzing indecision, mostly due to the fact that Arnold may be trying to follow a path that is at odds with his subconscious desires. Chronic tightness or tension in his body may well be a signal that Arnold Schwarzenegger is denying or suppressing the messages from his subconscious or emotional self.
Ideally, Arnold Schwarzenegger will learn to accept the two quite different aspects of his and to express both of them. If he cannot do this, Schwarzenegger is apt to attract many relationships into his life with people who reflect his denied or repressed qualities, and who seem to make his life difficult. (Read also chapter 4 in order to get a better picture of the duality described here.)
Arnold Schwarzenegger has a mature and often somber demeanor. He is serious, reserved, self-disciplined, highly responsible and conscientious. He advances in life rather slowly, through his own efforts and persistence. He is also rather stern and judgmental, especially with himself. Cautious and careful, it is difficult for him to really let go, to be spontaneous and playful. Arnold likes to be in control of himself.
While he is realistic and conscientious (or overly conscientious), as described above, Arnold Schwarzenegger also has an otherworldly, dreamy, or mystically-inclined side, as described below.
He is very open and receptive to the spiritual, intangible, and subtle realms, and can easily receive or give conscious guidance based on his inner attunement. Arnold Schwarzenegger takes many things for granted, such as the existence of an afterlife or the effects of subtle influences like aromatherapy, spiritual healing, etc. These things seem obvious to Arnold, whereas to many people they are a matter of conjecture or even illusory. Arnold Schwarzenegger may not realize he has spiritual gifts because they come so naturally to him.
Inwardly he is zealous and fanatical, though he may hide his personal desires and intentions, and the intensity of his feelings. He is driven by a deep inner sense of destiny and mission and an almost compulsive desire for personal recognition. Arnold has an infatuation with power and is incredibly willful and stubbornly fixated on achieving greatness or being someone Special. Arnold Schwarzenegger tends to worship heroes who have powerful personal magnetism and charisma, and he often seeks to emulate them. Arnold has potential for tremendous good or tremendous evil.
